Information for Waitlisted Applications

The Office of Admission at Bryant knows how stressful the college admission process can be.  Each year we receive more qualified applicants than we have a place for in our class.  Bryant is committed to providing a quality education and keeping our class sizes small.  For this reason, we must waitlist many qualified applications each year.

A waitlist decision simply means that we feel you are a strong applicant, with great potential, but are unable to offer you a spot in our competitive class at this point.  If you have received this decision we encourage you to do the following:

  • Mail back the waitlist reply card - we only consider students to be taken from the waitlist who have returned the reply card stating that they would like to remain on the waitlist
  • Write a letter to the Admission Committee stating your interest in Bryant and why you feel you are a good match for our institution
  • Submit your most recent grades
  • Forward any awards, honors or recommendations for the committee to review

All items should be mailed to:

Waitlist Process

While we are unable to determine how many candidates we will offer a place in our class, we do anticipate admitting students from the waitlist. The Office of Admission will begin looking at waitlist candidates at the end of April and we make an effort to admit students from the waitlist by May 1.  However, in previous years we have admitted students throughout the month of May.

It is important to understand that the Office of Admission does not place our waitlist candidates in any rank order.  Each candidate will be evaluated individually based on their academic performance, involvement, leadership and desire to attend Bryant.

Financial aid is available to students offered admission from the waitlist. We will be able to notify you of what your award will be at the time admission is offered. Bryant University is committed to packaging students admitted from the waitlist in the same way we do students admitted through the regular decision pool.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your admission counselor or call 401-232-6100.
