After considering a number of colleges, John Crisafulli chose Bryant because he liked the flexibility and scope of its communication program. He also realized the value of integrating liberal arts courses with business administration. The expertise of the faculty impressed John when he visited the campus, and he happily enrolled at his parents' alma mater. "My professors have a lot of practical experience in their fields, and they bring their skills to the classroom," he says. John has noticed that Professor Wendy Samter, chair of the communication department, never sits behind her desk in class teaching from a textbook. "She engages us by bringing theory to life, and we walk away with a real understanding of the issues." John also stays busy outside of the classroom as the assistant editor-in-chief of Bryant's student newspaper, "The Archway," and as an active member of the Bryant Communication Society. "I am learning not only how to distinguish myself in the field of communication but also how to apply that knowledge professionally," he says.
