DEADLINES

Bryant University accepts applications for Early Decision I, Early Action, Early Decision II, and Regular Decision. Read more about the Early Decision process at Bryant here.

Please keep in mind these important dates when applying:

November 15-- Early Decision I deadline

If Bryant is your first-choice university we encourage you to apply Early Decision. In addition to receiving admission notification by December 15, students that filed an estimated financial aid form will receive scholarship notification and an estimated financial aid package.

By applying Early Decision, you agree that, if admitted, you will withdraw all other college applications and enroll at Bryant University. A commitment deposit is due by January 9, 2012.

December 1 - Early Action deadline

If Bryant is one of your top choices we encourage you to apply Early Action. In addition to receiving admission notification mid-January, students will receive scholarship notification along with their admission decision.

Early action is non-binding, which means you get early notification, but your commitment deposit is not due until May 1, 2012.

Click here to learn more about Early Action at Bryant.

January 16 - Early Decision II deadline

If during your college search, Bryant becomes your first-choice university after the November 15 Early Decision I deadline, you still have the opportunity to be considered as an Early Decision applicant through our Early Decision II program. Applicants will be notified by February 16, and will receive scholarship notification. Those that filed an estimated financial aid form will also receive an estimated financial aid package.

By applying Early Decision II, you agree that, if admitted, you will withdraw all other college applications and enroll at Bryant University. A commitment deposit is due by March 9, 2012.

All Early Decision applicants must submit the Early Decision Agreement Form.

February 1— Regular Decision deadline

Students applying Regular Decision will receive notification by the third week in March and must postmark their commitment deposit by May 1, 2012. Applicants will receive notification if they have been awarded a scholarship, and those that filed a FAFSA will receive a financial aid package.

Admission Requirements

Competitive applicants to Bryant have taken a strong college preparatory curriculum including the following coursework in high school:

  • Four years of English
  • Two years of Social Science
  • Two years of Science (lab)
  • Two years of foreign language
  • Four years of college preparatory math (with forth year math a level beyond Algebra II. We prefer that a student takes precalculus or calculus in his/her senior year)
  • International students are required to take the TOEFL exam. The minimum required score for the TOEFL is 550 (213 computer-based exam), and an 80 on the IBT exam.

Applicants are encouraged to challenge themselves beyond these requirements and take honors, Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate courses where available and appropriate.

Advanced Standing (AP/IB/College credit)

Bryant allows students to enter with advanced standing from college credit earned through Advanced Placement(AP), International Baccalaureate (IB) and college level courses.

Bryant credit is awarded for IB exam scores of 5 or higher on the higher level exams

Admitted student profile

Bryant’s application review process is comprehensive and holistic. We review each application thoroughly when making an admission decision, and there are no cutoffs or minimum scores for any part of the application.

The average profile of a student attending Bryant in the Class of 2015 was:

  • 3.4 GPA (out of 4.0)
  • Top 25% of graduating class
  • Challenging college preparatory curriculum
  • Strong letters of recommendation
  • Extracurricular activities

This is just an average profile and every year students are admitted with higher and lower profiles than the average

Home schooled applicants

We welcome applications from students who have been home schooled. The application requirements for home schooled applicants are the same as for traditional applicants. In addition to SAT or ACT scores and the completed Common Application, home schooled applicants should submit documentation specifying the curriculum or certified program they have followed with a listing of subjects completed. Please note that home schooled applicants are required to submit SAT or ACT scores.

We will also accept official results from SAT Subject Tests, AP exams, IB exams, or CLEP exam results.
